Go 2 Girl LLC has been in business since 2017. Founder and president Vanessa Pennoyer established the business as a direct result of her corporate job being eliminated. While serving on the board of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Kentucky, Vanessa realized that members seeking to obtain women-owned business certifications needed assistance in navigating the supplier diversity space.
While Go 2 Girl LLC initially was not interested in managing the paperwork of certification, they have quickly grown and expanded their services to include hands-on assistance with the certification process on behalf of their clients. They now serve clients in 24 states and have helped more than 300 women, minority, veteran, and LGBTQ+ businesses receive certifications with a 98% approval rate.
Business owners choose to outsource their certification process to Go 2 Girl LLC because Go 2 Girl completes all eligible applications on behalf of the business. This includes state, federal, local, and national third-party certifications such as the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), and more. Once clients are certified, Go 2 Girl LLC offers business development services to complete portal registrations and prepare proposals. Go 2 Girl staff become an extension of the client’s team for outreach and networking purposes. Lastly, Go 2 Girl works with large companies to establish supplier diversity programs with transparency and procurement compliance.
Not only does Vanessa Pennoyer work hard to secure certifications for Go 2 Girl’s clients, but she has also successfully pursued a variety of certifications for her own business. Certifications held by Go 2 Girl LLC include DBE, Commonwealth of Kentucky, WOSB, WBENC, and Louisville Metro.
Go 2 Girl LLC became a client of the Kentucky APEX Accelerator (formerly KYPTAC) in 2018. Since then, founder and president Vanessa Pennoyer have worked with the KY APEX Accelerator staff to complete her Capability Statement and receive support in navigating SAM.gov. She has also taken advantage of training opportunities provided by KY APEX Accelerator in the areas of certifications, finding, and winning contracts.
