General Information
On April 4, 2025, FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the Commonwealth of Kentucky to supplement response efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding beginning on April 2, 2025.
President Donald Trump approved the emergency declaration and authorized FEMA to coordinate all disaster relief efforts to alleviate the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population and to provide appropriate assistance to save lives, to protect property, public health and safety and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe.
The assistance is for all 120 Kentucky counties.
This is a developing situation. Read the full press release on FEMA's website. Visit FEMA's dedicated disaster web page for additional information and resources related to the emergency declaration.

If you are contacting FEMA seeking to do business in support of a disaster recovery effort, please be aware that in accordance with the Stafford Act (specifically Section 307), FEMA’s goal is to seek local companies within the disaster area for services related to a specific disaster when practical and feasible.
